In this blog post, I am going to break down my TOP 5 concealers, I believe that are ideal for ALL skin types. The variety of products and brands I have chosen are ones I continue to use and will continue to range in my personal and professional makeup kit. They all vary in price, texture, coverage and application methods.
Of course, this is just my opinion as a professional freelancer, and depending on your wants and needs, your views may differ to mine.
Being a Professional Freelance Makeup Artist for over five years now, and having worked for one of Australia’s leading beauty destinations, Mecca Brands, I have had my fair share of exposure to many things, including products, environments in which they’re worn as well as 100’s of customers and clients alike.
With this list comes trial and trust me, a lot of errors with application, but just because I am a makeup artist, doesn’t mean I have had a perfect understanding in how to use and apply products the whole time I’ve used makeup in my personal life. Number #1 NARS Soft Matte Concealer
Let’s start with my favourite, hands down, rain, hail or shine which is the NARS Soft Matte Concealer

. Literally blurs and smooths lines with minimal application
. Sits well on all skin types and texture
. Colour corrects dark circles, breakouts and hyper pigmentation with extreme ease instantly
. Made with hyaluronic acid to plump and smooth the skin
. Full of vitamin rich ingredients
. This fights against free-radical stressors in day to day pollution from the air we walk and breathe
. Oil, Paraben, Sulphate and Alcohol free

Number #2 Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
My second favourite concealer, which is more affordable, is the
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
This concealer is infused with Goji Berry and Haloxyl, which basically means it will aid in delivering coverage to hide pigmentation, like dark circles and discolouration, as well as brighten the under eye area.
This concealer is
. Super lightweight
. Full coverage
. Extremely affordable
. Blends easily
. Suitable for all skin types
. Long-wearing
A little bit really does go a long way with this concealer!
You can buy online or in-store at Woolworths, Coles, Priceline or my personal favourite, Chemist Warehouse as their brands and product lines constantly go on rotation with weekly specials and sales through-out their stores.
Full retail value is $19.95aud of this product, but you can get it as cheap as $10.00aud at times, talk about value for money!
Number #3 Kryolan Concealer Wheel
Now this next product, though anyone can use it, comes with a little more understanding of colour theory, specifically colour correcting theories.
A cult classic amongst professional makeup artists, it is the Kryolan Concealer Wheel
This concealer wheel is:
. Packed FULL of pigment
. Long-wearing
. Rich and creamy in texture
. 6 adaptive colours to conceal, tone and highlight
. Easily camouflages discolouration and blemishes
. Easily blended and workable underneath or on top of any product

It retails for $72.00aud which may sound expensive, but you’re getting 6 colours in one. The concentration of product and pigment means a little bit goes a long way with this product, so it’s well worth the investment.
Number #4 NARS Creamy Concealer
My next concealer, another cult classic amongst the beauty world is the NARS Creamy Concealer.

. Brightens and colour corrects the under eyes

And last, but no means, least favourite, as it’s still an amazing product, and also a little bit of a tongue twister, is the BareMinerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer
This concealer is:

. Medium to buildable coverage
. Luminous finish
. Enriched with anti-ageing serum to combat those pesky fine lines and crows feet
. Infused with colour corrective undertones to camouflage discolouration
. Live with hydration properties to counteract free radical and environmental pollution
This concealer is also Paraben, Sulphate and Chemical sunscreen free, as well as a lot of other tongue twisting nasties that can be in other products, so basically means, for my sensitive skin gals and guys, this is one for you!
